Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, handle and protect your personal information.  Our goal is to provide consistent and clear privacy practices subject to the requirements of applicable law.  By accepting the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy during registration, you, as an artist or shopper, expressly consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may amend this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice to you by posting the new or amended terms on the trAloolaTM website (“Site”).

Collection of Data
You may search our site without revealing your personal information to us.  In order to transact on the site you will be required to register and create an account.  During that process we may collect and store the following personal information:

  • Name, email address, physical contact information, and depending on the type of transaction on the site, financial information such as credit card or bank account numbers
  • Transactional information based on the activities you perform on the sites (such as placing an item in a Shopping Bag, making a purchase, and other item related and/or content information that you generate that relates to your account.
  • Shipping, billing and other information you provide to purchase and/or ship an item
  • Rave reviews, dispute resolution correspondence, other correspondence through our email servers and correspondence sent directly to us
  • Other information relating to your transactions including computer and connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the sites, ad data, IP address and standard web log information
  • Information we may acquire from other sources such as demographic data
  • Other supplemental information from you or third parties to verify your information

Information collected through the use of technology
First, we may actively collect information that is automatically sent to us by your web browser. This information typically includes your domain name (which typically means your internet service provider, browser, type and version, and your operating system). The amount of information sent depends on the settings you have on your web browser; please refer to your browser if you want to learn what information it sends.

We use the information we automatically receive from your web browser to see which pages you visit, which site you visited before coming to ours, and where you go after you leave. We at trAloola can then develop statistics that are very helpful in understanding how this Site is used by our visitors. This statistical data is used by trAloola in its continuing effort to present the content that customers are seeking in a format they find most helpful.

Second, we may actively obtain information about you by installing our own marker on your computer. This marker is commonly called a “cookie” and it enables us to know you by a computer-generated, unique identifier. By providing you a unique identifier, we are able to store your previous choices and preferences on your machine. In situations where these choices or preferences need to be used again; they can be supplied to us by your machine automatically, saving you time and effort. For example, if you purchase a product once, and you want to purchase it again, your previous selections for size, quantity or other features will have been retained, and can be re-entered more quickly. Your computer may be specifically configured to reject cookies; please refer to your browser for more information.  If you reject all cookies, you will not be able to use the trAloola Site for any activities that require you to sign-in and you may not be able to take full advantage of the trAloola service. 

Marketing
We will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.  We may combine your information and/or statistics with information we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize the content and services we provide.  If you do not want to receive marketing communications from us, please indicate your preferences in the ‘My Preferences’ section on you’re My Account page following log-in.  You will also be able to unsubscribe from any marketing email you receive from us.

Administrative Notices
Certain administrative notices are required in order to transact on the site (such as Welcome emails, Transaction and Sales Notifications and Inventory Status).  We will send these and other service related notifications as a service to you in order to complete the transactions you initiate.

Information Use, Sharing and Disclosure

Use
The primary purpose of collecting your personal information is to provide you with the most efficient, safe and customized experience we can.  You agree that we may use your personal information for the following:

  • To provide the services and support you request
  • To enable transactions on the site
  • To help resolve disputes, collect fees and payments
  • To prevent illegal activities and to enforce our Terms of Use
  • To analyze, customize and improve the services we provide as well as our content and advertising
  • To communicate targeted marketing messages and promotional events and service updates
  • To compare information for accuracy and verify it with third parties 

Sharing and Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims regarding violations of others or to protect the rights, property and/or safety of others.

We may also share your personal information with:

  • Service providers who contract with us in supporting the transaction process (such as banks and credit card companies)
  • Law enforcement or other governmental officials in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity.

Rave Reviews and Chat Boards
Once you have made a public posting on a chat board or review on the site, any personally identifiable information you submit there can be seen, read, collected or used by others to send you unsolicited messages.  By using only your username you and your personal information remain anonymous to other users.  TrAloola is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.

Editing Your Information
You can see, review and edit all of your personal information on trAloola except your Username.  Once you select a username it will remain associated with your account for the duration of your membership.  If there are any changes to pertinent account data it is your responsibility to update it in your ‘My Account’ page.

Your password is the key to ensuring your personally identifiable information remains private.  Use a unique sequence of letters and numbers and characters.  You are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account so it is important to keep your password private.  If you feel that your password has been compromised in any way you should immediately change your password in the My Account section on the site.

Security
The security of your personal information is of utmost importance to us.  Your information is stored on our secure servers located in Canada.  We use both physical and technological tools to help keep that information secure.  When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card and bank account), trAloola encrypts that information using SSL technology.  trAaloola follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once trAloola receives it.  No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.  While we use commercially accepted means to protect your personal information we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

There are some things that users can do to help protect the security of this Personal Information as well.  For instance, users should never give out their password.  Also, every user should click on the “log out” button on the Site and close their browser window when they finish surfing the Web so that other people using the same computer will not have access to the information.

Links and Disclaimers of Linked sites
For your convenience, the Site may contain certain hyperlinks to other sites outside of trAloolaTM.  Please note that once you have clicked on a link, you may leave the trAloola Site to a site that is not under our control and to which our information Privacy Policy does not apply.  You must read the privacy policy, if any, of each linked site to see how your personal information will be collected, used, and disclosed on their site.
