Hello Everybody! Thank you for taking the time to look through my work. My name is Anjana Rao and I am a recent graduate of Iowa State University. I was chosen as an Emerging Artist for the Des Moines Arts Festival and my passion is travel documentary photography.The purpose of my work is to allow the individual's mind to escape immediacy and contemplate the bigger picture. With so many distractions around us, photography can capture the magic of one moment in space and time and fully saturate that one instance. That one captured moment then has the potential to incite and possess emotion as well as communicate a message to the viewer. It is these attributes of photography that I strive to make certain are present in my work and that I feel create the most powerful images.
