My name is Marjorie Wedge Mable ---- but I answer to "Marge!
I've been painting and "playing in paint" since I was in kindergarten.
I am the mother of 5 married children, and enjoy encouraging my very
special grandkids to be creative, and occassionally to spend time kayaking,
gathering driftwood, and/or playing in paint!
I grew up in New England and Upstate New York.
and now live in Iowa.
I studied art, and have taught in public schools and privately.
For 28 yearsrs, until recently, my daughters and I owned the
popular FolkArt shop in Historic Valley Junction, IA.
We created most of the inventory in our shop, including traditional,
contemporary and whimsical folk art, as well as the driftwood pieces you’ll see here...
.....especially my uniquely amiable Santas, which have been adopted all
over, becoming "little Ambassadors of love"!
My love of water, the outdoors, and art have combined to become
“Driftwood FolkArt." I have now begun to add paintings, as well as
the driftwood folk art to my booth--hoping it will enlarge your
perception and enjoyment of the art I do
I hope you will enjoy seeing a sampling of my work, and will contact me
if you'd like more information!
