| I am a native of the Kansas City area, but now I am a resident of Denver. I am a former high school and junior high school art teacher. I am a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. I also have a Master of Arts degree in Education from Avila University, Kansas City. My muse is the biological father I never met, he is the mask. To me the mask is a symbol of mystery and life. The colors and styles of masks are borrowed from many cultures. My depiction of the subject is usually cut-off by the edges of the painted surface. |
