Thank you for visiting my booth.
Being a professional artist has not stunted my delight in people wanting to see and own my work. It is a pleasure to paint what I respond to with joy and skill. perhaps awakening a memory the viewer has long forgotten or whose busy life robs them of notice restoring a moment of rest and contemplation.
Though commercially trained as an illustrator in drawing, watercolor, pen & ink and air brush and later in both pastel and oil and am accompished in all, watercolor has become what I enjoy the most. Every Saturday for the past 28 years I paint plein air (outside) in all kinds of weather with a group called the Saturday Sketch Club. Most of the paintings on this web site will be from this collection.
In the studio I may enlarge and enhance what is begun as a quick study from size 10" x 14" to 22" x 30". These are usually landscapes, waterscapes and achitectural scenes.
When doing commission portraits sittings are required and I will take photos. If customers have a favorite photo these are done in the studio after a discussion as to medium and price. When going to the location the customer pays travel expenses as well.
Though known for my expressionistic style, surrealism paintings made up from the customer's idea of objects, places and colors they like and 'we' create what is called a personality portrait.
My paintings have received awards in juried exhibits and are in many collections both national and international.
